There is only one problem - in order for the mamodo to use their powerful spell books, they need a human partner. If his spell book is destroyed, the mamodo disintegrates and returns to the mamodo world."

Ponygon (Umagon in Japanese) is a Mamodo who can't speak any human languages. When first introduced in season one he had no partner, but carried an orange spellbook. It wasn't until half way through the second season that he found Kafk. Kafk, an auto technician, grew a strong bond with Ponygon from the start. It was then they found that Ponygon had an arsenal of powerful spells.
